The Department of Surface Transport, Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport (MoIT) is pleased to disclose the Environment and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) for construction of Gelephu-Tareythang Road and Bridges. The ESIA follows Good International Industry Practices (GIIP) and the World Bank’s Environmental and Social Framework (ESF). The ESIA is being disclosed as soon as it became available for the benefit of potentially project affected people and other interested stakeholders. Any gaps in this ESIA will be filled through supplemental studies, assessments, and/or plans that will be completed in a reasonable timeframe to ensure compliance with the ESF.
